#2. Early Life

His background is related to Indian cinema, several relatives were member of bollywood including, late Tahir Hussain (Uncle), Naseeruddhin Shah(Maternal uncle).

As child, he appeared in Yaadon ki baarat(1973) and Madhosh (1973). He switch three schools J.B Petit School for primary education (This was a girls school but boys was also studied till 5^th standard) to St. Anne’s School Bandra(till the eighth standard) to Bombay Scottish School, Mahim(9^th and 10^th ). He prefer sports rather than education, he love to play tennis (He won state level championship).

Later he joined Narsee Monjee College for 12^th standard. He left education because his financial condition was critical due to his father’s production were mostly Unsuccessful. There would be 30 calls per day from creditors for their money. His family wants to him for a doctor, an engineer but he has intense interest in films that’s why he did his friends silent film, Paranoia. He said experience of working in this film encourage him to pursue a career in film. He later joins a theatre (Avantar), where he performed backstage activities for over one year.

After study he decided to join his uncle(Naseer hussain) for assistant director in Manzil Manzil(1984) and Zabardast(1985). Later he actually did his first film Holi and Than Qyamat Se Qyamat Tak.
